About Me

Enthusiasm. Experience. Dedication. Training.

Enthusiasm

My name is Barbara Beattie.

I am an independent freelance contractor offering a full range of editing services. Editing is a positive and productive activity that gives me satisfaction.  I thoroughly enjoy the process of polishing and perfecting a piece of writing.  I have excellent attention to detail and a good sense of grammar, phrasing, and word usage.  These innate traits combined with my technical knowledge, training, and experience are what make me a quality editing professional.

My career as an information professional has always focused on books, libraries, reading, writing, research, and education. I have a passion for the written word and the transmission of information.  Allow me to put my passion to work for you!

I will work conscientiously to help you meet your objectives.  I do not operate an editing "factory" through which your work is farmed out to one of many consultants. Rather, I work with one client at a time so that I can provide personalized, one-on-one service tailored to your individual needs. I pride myself on being accessible, responsive, friendly, and easy to work with.

Before we begin any work, we will need to ascertain your needs, your time schedule, and your budget.
